INTRODUCTION:

Serpent F110 Formula 1/10 EP It’s a 1/10 scale car, based on the successfull 1/10 and 1/12 pancar platform. The joy, excitement, speed and performance of Formula 1 in a cool 1/10 scale package ! Full carbon / alu F1 racing car with many set-up possibilities. Suitable for standard and shorty 2S packs. Can be raced with rubber or foam tyres. The kit includes racing chassis, FR and RR wing. No tyres, wheels, electronics and body.

SERPENT HERITAGE:

Serpent has started developing and manufacturing of rc cars in 1980 in the Netherlands, Europe and has expanded the rc car program ever since !  Serpent has won mulitple World Championships, as well as European, American and Asian Championship titles. Michael Salven is head of design for all onroad Serpent cars, as has been racing all his life, and won World and European Championship titles, as well as many German national titles.   His experience and knowledge has also been used to design this new Serpent F110 car, as the Serpent entry into the growing 1/10 Formula one class.  Michael has worked together with Nacho Lopez and  a number of test-drivers like Jan Asmer and Ludovic Leflon and a number of Asian drivers, as the class is big there too !!

RACING:

Serpent teamdriver Jan Asmer from Germany  races the Serpent F110  proto-type since the 2nd race of the ETS championship, as has won the ETS 2012-2013 ETS title  already, with one more ETS race in Slovakia to go.  The F110 prototype was also used at the TITC in Thailand with great success, and  Team-driver Yuya Sahahsi won  a recent F1 race in Japan with an almost final production version of the F110 car.

Jan Asmer 2012-2013 ETS  F1 class winner

CHASSISPLATE:

Carbon fibre chassisplate in 2mm, narrow chassis in high quality woven carbon fibre, stiff type, but enough flex to create more grip as needed. Countersunk holes n the bottom to create an even surface. Machined section in the bottom to allow use of battery tape

CHASSIS AND HOLDERS:

Fit Shorty and Normal packs, the car is designed in such away that you can use either type of battery. In case you use the Shorty packs, you have space to put the battery in the middle and the receiver and speedo on either side.  In case of a standard 2S pack, the kit includes the 2 carbon side-plates, so the speedo and receiver can be mounted on the side of the chassis, still centrally to retain a perfect balance.  For both situations the right battery-holders are supplied.

CARBON FIBRE BODYMOUNT AND TOPDECK:

The bodymount doubles as sidespringholder and tube holder. Strong nylon bodymounts with fine tuning nuts.

STEERINGBLOCKS ASSEMBLY:

Durable springloaded steeringblocks with pivotballs
The steeringblocks are spring loaded on the kingpin, and feature pivotballs for adjustment and create supersmooth suspension travel. Various springs available.

SERVO HOLDER AND SAVER:

Superstrong machined aluminium servo holder and strong servo saver.
The servo-holder is a superbly machined jewel, in T6 aluminium, lightweight and very rigid. Grey anodised and lightened. The mount doubles as front suspension holder and fits both regular as low servo’s. A nice springloaded servo-saver is included.

ADJUSTABLE RIDE HEIGHT:

To suit both rubber and foam tyres, the chassis offers the possibility to easily change the ride height with spacers. The spacers needed are already included, 1, 2 and 3 mm ones.

FRONT SUSPENSION AND WISHBONES:

Front trackrod suspension with lower carbon wishbones;
The fully adjustable front suspension allows for camber and caster changes,a s well as toe and roll center adjustment. The manual shows a good easy starting point as base set-up. The lower wishbones are in durable carbon fibre, but allow for enough flex. The upper trackods are used to change the set-up to your demands. By changing length of the rods and playing with shims, many set-ups can be tried.

LARGE VOLUME MAIN CENTRAL SHOCKABSORBER RCCX TYPE:

A pivotball mounted bigbore hydraulic central shockabsorber of the RCCX type connects to upper front and rear assembly. The small shocktower offers 3 holes for set-up changes. The membrame type shockabsober feature a hardened shockrod, smooth o-ring/shim package and  a threaded housing to enable spring preload changes with very small increments.  The shockspring is selected and grinded flat for equal action.  More springstypes and silicone oils available to play with set-up.

SPRINGLOADED LINK-TYPE REAR SUSPENSION:

With single tube. The springloaded pivotball mounted side-links interact with the single silicone oil filled tube and the central upper shockabsorber to ceate maximum grip with the rear tyres.

PANCAR STYLE REAR END:
with a strong carbon fibre lower pod and rear plate  and  aluminium powerpod sides. The right alu motorholder fits most commonly used motors. The light alu rear axle seats in bearings in nylon ride height inserts.  All 5 types rideheigts inserts are included in the kit.

STRONG AND LIGHT ALUMINIUM REAR AXLE:
The light aluminum rear axle is more durable and comes close to the weight of a carbon fibre one ( which sells as optional).

CAPTURED PIVOT BALL CONNECTION:

The captured pivotball links the rear pod with the chassis.

FRONT WING:

Strong front nylon wing which fits most common lexan wings, the nylon front bumper / wingmount sits flush with the chassis and mounts rigidly with 2 large screws to the chassis.  The bumper will absorb hard frontal crashes and mounts the lexan topwing, of which most commonly used ones fit easily. The lexan front wing  is secured with 4 small parkerscrews.  2 lexan wings included, high and medium downforce. The front bodypost is moulded as integral part of the bumper.

REAR WING:

Large durable white rear wing, the high downforce rear wing with 2 layers connects to the carbon rear plate. Rear wings from common other brands will also fit.

OILS AND GREASE:

Top-quality silicone shock-oil, silicone diff oil and some grease is used to meet the standard set-up.
