Updated Front Shock tower

More material around camber link mounting positions. The Tower has been raised 2mm, and the shock geometry has been revised. The up-travel and Droop have been optimized for best performance.

Updated Rear Shock Tower

More material around camber link mounting positions. Tower has been lowered 2mm. This will increase rear droop and optimized jump landing and handling performance.

Newly designed rear CVD’s with Longer rear driveshaft

The CVD’s feature fully captured outer pivot to retain the pivoting pin, using a spring clip. The inner pivot pin has been switched from 2mm to 2.5mm for longer life and less friction. The increase in length of the driveshaft provides more support and more traction.

Newly designed center CVD’s

The CVD’s feature captured pivots to retiain pivoting pin, using a spring clip. The ball pivot pin has been switched from a 2mm to 2.5mm for longer life and less friction. The new CVD’s with captured pins are to ensure your vehicle finishes the race and decreases maintenance costs.

Gear diff outdrives/Slipper
outdrives:

The outdrives have been updated from a 2mm slot to a 2.5mm slot to now accept all new drivetrain.

Updated Body mounts:

The body mount boss’ on the side pods have been raised 5mm. This now allows you to run body pins without them extending below the chassis surface. You no longer have to worry about ruining the track surface or loosing your body during a race.

Updated Front arms:

The front arms have been thickened on the shock pivots ball mounting face and on the internal webbing to prevent breakage and screw stripping. This also helps increase the shocks clearance on the front anti roll bar wire. The arm mould has also been updated to now accept a 3mm solid front hinge pin.

Updated Rear arms:

The rear arms have been thickened on the shock pivot ball mounting face to allow for longer screws. This is so the length of the screw can be increased improving the life of the arm, and to keep the shock mounted to the arm in the roughest crashes. The arm mould has also been updated to now accept a 3mm solid front hinge pin

Slipper clutch:

The slipper clutch has been re-designed to have 2 pads. This was done by creating a new slipper plate. This will allow for a much broader range of adjustment, from the lowest traction conditions to the highest. The slipper shaft will still allow for a 3 pad slipper, if desired.

Updated Alu Servo mount:

The aluminum servo mount has been thickened walls, to reduce flex and make sure that your steering response is precise and accurate.

Updated Servo mount plate:

The carbon servo mount plate has been updated to have a webbing in the center. This dramatically increased strength and reduced unwanted twisting of the servo. Its yet another step to increase the precision and accuracy of your driving.

Chasis

The hardcoated lightweight 2mm 7075 T6 aluminium chassis has the right flex combined with the composite side-guards / chassis stiffeners and center spline. All holes are countersunk to have a fully flat bottom surface. Holes are centered and symmetrical for even

Bulkheads

The front and rear bulkheads of the SDX are made from high grade 7075 T6 aluminum and offer easy removal and re assembly of the clam shell transmission housings. They are extremely strong and lightweight.

Front Suspension

Strong composite lower suspension arms with mounting spots for the pivotball activated anti-roll bar. The arms are a closed type design for aero effect, rigidity and clean looks. On the upper side optional carbon inserts can be applied in case harder arms are needed for handling. Composite insertplates are standard. The front arms have 2 shockangle positions. These arms have been updated to have more material around the shock mounting surface, for added strength.

Rear Suspension

On the upper side optional carbon inserts can be applied in case harder arms are needed for handling. Composite insertplates are standard. The rear arms have 2 shock mounting positions on each side front and rear. The front and rear shockmounting positions are different and the arms can be used on both sides of the car, so you have 4 shock angle positions to choose form. The rear arms allow to mount the shocks also in the rear of the car

Suspension arm pivot balls and straight 3mm hinge pins

The updated Evo, now uses a solid 3mm hinge pin and utilized pivot balls that float on those pins. The suspension brackets are machined to adapt the pivotballs and create a low friction, no binding suspension. You can now be rest assured your suspension will not bind. You are also now able to adjust the wheel base of your vehicle on the inner arm.

Suspension Brackets

Hard coated aluminum suspension brackets fr fr and fr rr. Small but effective composite front bumper to protect the front end. The angled front built in kick up allows for smoother landings. The rear rear suspension bracket can be used standard with o-degree or upside down as 3-degree anti-squat.

Gear Differential

Lightweight and easy to maintenance gear differentials with spring steel outdrives. Easy to swap metal Ring gear, and steel internal gears for long life in the harshest conditions

Steering blocks and c-hubs

The lightweight composite steeringblocks are combined with aluminium 7075 T6 c-hubs. The c-hubs have 2 positions for rollcenter, and can be further finetuned by using more or less shims. The c-hubs are 10 degree, other optional ones are 0,3 and 5 degree.

Shocks

Serpent hard coated shock bodies and composite shock tops for super smooth operation and durability. 3.2mm shafts with new pre-oiled X-ring package and molded pistons. The shocks can be used either emulsion or membrane configuration. The shock springs have grounded ends, checked and matched for perfect equal operation. Ride height can be easy set with the threaded collars which have o-rings inside to stay in position.

Decals

The kit contains a Serpent logo decal sheet and a Project SDX4 logo-sheet.

Manual

The full color manual is supplied on a nice carbon look USB stick and the latest version and updates can be downloaded from the Serpent website. The manual features an extensive assembly explanation as well as all exploded views. The exploded views are active, so when clicking a part number it will take you to the right part number in our website.

As set-up sheets a blank, a default and an editable pdf file is supplied and updates and set-ups from team drivers are online in our website, too
